Violette Dorange qualifies for the Vendée Globe!
The Batt CSR Committee launched a new challenge to our employees on Wednesday 29 May 2024, in parallel with Violette Dorange’s departure for the New York Vendée. This 5,871 km crossing between New York and Les Sables d’Olonne was the final qualifying stage for the prestigious Vendée Globe.
A collaborative, eco-responsible challenge
225 of our employees, divided into 47 teams of 5 people, took up this challenge until 10 June 2024. The challenge took place in four stages, each focusing on themes that are important to us: sport, the environment, recycling and team building. Participants were asked to be creative, answer quizzes, take part in surveys, walk and predict Violette’s arrival.
Batt’s teams covered a total of 22,484,242 steps, or 16,698 km, far exceeding the round trip distance between New York and Les Sables d’Olonne. With an average of 1,700,000 steps per day, the commitment of our employees was significant!
A new performance by Violette Dorange
This challenge was an opportunity to support Violette Dorange, who achieved a new performance by finishing 18th in the New York Vendée in 14 days, 20 hours, 10 minutes and 50 seconds. By tackling the rigorous conditions of the Atlantic Ocean, Violette once again demonstrated her talent and resilience, qualifying for the Vendée Globe.
Our commitment to CSR
Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is reinforced by initiatives such as this challenge, which promote team cohesion and employee health, while raising awareness of environmental issues. At Batt, we believe that actions such as these contribute to a healthier and more responsible working environment!
Well done to everyone for their commitment and determination! And a big well done to Violette Dorange for her performance and qualification.
