The Batt Foundation supports the AKGN Association
Since September 2023, the Batt Foundation has been working alongside the AKGN Association in an educational initiative to promote education and development in Guinea Conakry.
Since its creation in 2008, the AKGN Association has been working for the development of the Kankalabé sub-prefecture. Its initiatives cover a number of crucial areas, including health, access to drinking water, education, the economy through micro-credit, and the environment through reforestation programmes.
An educational project between France and Guinea
As part of this partnership, AKGN has established an educational link between the Kankalabé school and the Saint-Pierre primary school in Nancy. Pupils from both schools worked together to create a book based on a traditional Guinean tale. Under the supervision of a writer with experience of similar projects in Madagascar, the young people played an active part in writing the book, in French and in Pulaar, the local language.
A book for development
The aim of the project is to produce 1,000 copies of the book. Of these, 500 will be donated to AKGN. Proceeds from the sale of some of these books will be used to reward participants and to fund new humanitarian initiatives. This project embodies the Batt Foundation’s vision of promoting access to education and supporting significant humanitarian causes.
A lasting commitment to education
The Batt Foundation’s support for AKGN reflects our deep commitment to education and sustainable development. By partnering with initiatives such as this, we help to create educational opportunities and promote social and economic progress. We firmly believe that education is an essential pillar of development, and that it is determined to play an active role in creating opportunities for all.
